    Free Computer Forensics Class

Email Steve Hailey at shailey@edcc to enroll.  For additional information, please see:
    http://infosec.edcc.edu/computerforensicsfundamentals.htm

This introductory course on computer forensics usually retails for $150.00, and is being offered through the 2008 year at no cost - all are invited to participate. This class is popular and seats will go fast - we regularly have students who have traveled from out of state in attendance.

This course is designed for anyone interested in learning more about computer forensics/forensic computing. One does not need to be working in an information technology related field to attend. The focus for this one-of-a-kind course will be the various aspects of computer forensics, and what working in this exciting field actually entails.

You'll be taken through an actual computer forensics case as seen through the eyes of an expert, and you will become conversant in computer forensics terminology as well as gaining an understanding of what computer forensic experts actually do.

Certificates of completion will be provided to all who attend.

    Topics Include:

Data storage, hard drives and media
    Sources of data and evidence
    Forensics in a networked environment
    Computer forensics procedures
Computer forensics experts - becoming one
    Employment outlook
    Preparing to testify
