I invite you to join us at the Data-Intensive Sciences Workshop on September 19-20, 2010 in Seattle. This is the first of two planned, NSF-supported, invitation-only workshops that will bring together a cross-disciplinary team of exceptional researchers, business leaders, science administrators, and policymakers in order to discuss and find solutions to data-intensive challenges in (biomedical and life) sciences. For details about the workshop, please visit: http://scridataworkshop.orkaeko.com/
If you are interested in attending, please register on this website no later than August 31st. The attendance of this event is very limited, so only your timely registration will allow us to guarantee your participation (due to a lean budget, we are not able to cover your expenses, but at the same time, there will not be any registration fees). Along with the online registration, we are requesting each participant send suggested working groups’ subjects of interest and a perspective statement – 2 to 4 pages about your views on the importance of data-intensive sciences and the issues, challenges, opportunities, and gaps associated with them (also due August 31st).
I look forward to seeing you at the workshop!
