The University of Washington is having a one-hour information meeting
regarding two of its certificate programs: the Certificate for
Information Assurance and Cybersecurity, and the Certificate for
Information Systems Security. Both programs are starting again this
Fall.
The information meeting is scheduled for Monday, August 21, at 6PM in
Mary Gates Hall Room 271 (Seattle campus
http://www.washington.edu/home/maps/ ). If you have colleagues or
friends who are interested in learning more about these programs,
please pass this information onto them. We have 12 remaining slots in
the Information Assurance and Cybersecurity program.
To make it even easier for busy people to participate, this year, we’ve
devised a format that will offer both in-class and live online sessions
on alternate weeks for the Information Assurance and Cybersecurity
certificate program. We’ve been getting student feedback that increased
commuting time (given the crowded highways) and the steep rise in the
cost of gas and parking make this option attractive. Using the latest
synchronous technologies and capitalizing on the University’s huge
bandwidth, we think this approach will be attractive to incoming
students.
As a reminder, please check the CIAC website
(http://extension.washington.edu/ext/certificates/inf/inf_gen.asp)
frequently for updates of events that you might want to take advantage
of, like the ISCRMI conference coming up Sept 10-11, with the Agora
following on the 12th. Also, my door is open to discuss any continuing
career questions you might have or to discuss trends or ideas that you
wish to brainstorm! I always enjoy seeing former students!
I appreciate and value your involvement in the previous cohorts and
look forward to seeing you at some of our future events and to meeting
your referrals at our information meeting coming up August 21!
